Live from NPR in Washington, I'm Janine Herbst. Hungarian Prime Minister [匈牙利总理] Viktor Orban, a close ally [盟友] of President Trump, has conceded defeat [承认失败] to opposition [反对派] leader Peter Magyar, ending his 16 years in power [执政]. Last week, Vice President Vance visited Hungary, supporting Orban, trying to shore up [巩固] votes for the authoritarian [威权] leader.

President Trump says the U.S. is imposing [实施] a naval blockade [海上封锁] on the Strait of Hormuz [霍尔木兹海峡], but Iran says it won't bow down to threats [屈服于威胁]. NPR's Mara Liason reports. Trump told Fox News it wouldn't take long to clean out [清理] the Strait. Just hours after talks [会谈] between the U.S. and Iran failed to reach an agreement [达成协议] to end the war, President Trump posted that effective immediately [立即生效], the U.S. Navy will begin the process of blockading any and all ships trying to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz. That means Iran could not export [出口] its oil through the Strait or collect tolls [收取通行费] from other countries' ships. But since it would also prevent any oil from coming through the Strait, it's not clear how the blockade will help bring down [降低] the price of gas [汽油]. Those high prices were caused by closing off [关闭] one of the most important choke points [咽喉要道] for the global oil and gas market [石油和天然气市场]. The president also posted that any Iranian who fires at [向…开火] the U.S. or any other peaceful vessels [民用船只] will be, quote [引述], blown to hell [被彻底摧毁].

Congress is back in D.C. tomorrow after a two-week break [两周休会] and topping the agenda [议程首位], the war in Iran. NPR's Eric McDaniel has more. Democrats are incensed [愤怒的] over President Trump's threat [威胁] to end Iranian civilization [伊朗文明] ahead of last week's ceasefire [停火] announcement. More than three dozen [三十多位] called for him to be removed from office [免职]. After this weekend's talks, led by Vice President Vance, failed, Democrats will force votes [强行表决] on the war in an attempt to curb [限制] the president's powers [权力]. The Constitution [宪法] gives Congress the authority [权力] to declare war [宣战], though it's been some time since they asserted [行使] it. The show votes [象征性投票] are expected to fail, but ahead of the eventual consideration [审议] of the president's $1.5 trillion Pentagon funding request [五角大楼拨款请求], they'll put Republicans on the record [公开表态] about a military campaign [军事行动] that remains extremely unpopular among the American public.

Public health officials [公共卫生官员] say street drugs [街头毒品] are getting more toxic [毒性更强]. NPR's Brian Mann has more. Fatal [致命的] street drug overdoses [过量用药] have been plummeting [急剧下降], reaching their lowest levels [最低水平] in more than half a decade [五年多来], according to the latest data [最新数据] from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [疾病控制与预防中心]. But street drug experts [毒品专家] like Ed Siscoe with the National Institute of Standards and Technology [国家标准与技术研究院] worry a new wave [新一波] of synthetic chemicals [合成化学物质] being added to street drugs is heightening [加剧] the danger again. Once a month or once every other month, we're encountering [遇到] something that we've never seen before and we haven't seen indications [迹象] of it being seen in the United States before either. Officials have issued warnings [发布警告] about a dangerous sedative [镇静剂] called metatomidine that's causing heart ailments [心脏疾病] in people who use street drugs and a synthetic opioid [合成阿片类药物] more powerful than fentanyl [芬太尼] called cyclophene linked to recent overdose deaths [过量致死] in South Carolina and Tennessee.

One of the giants [巨头] of the Indian movie and music industries [产业] has died. Singer Aja Bozla was 92 years old. NPR's Anastasia Silukas reports she gave voice to [为…配唱] hundreds of movie characters [电影角色] as a Bollywood singer [宝莱坞歌手]. According to the Guinness Book of World Records [吉尼斯世界纪录], Asha Bozla was the most recorded singer [录音最多的歌手] of all time. Over a career [职业生涯] that lasted nearly eight decades [近八十年], she recorded more than 12,000 songs, mostly for movie actresses [女演员] to lip-sync [对口型] on screen. And for much of her career, her main competition [主要竞争对手] was her older sister, Lata Mangeshkar. Their father was a classical Indian singer [印度古典歌手], but he died young. So the sisters made their way to Mumbai [孟买] and started singing for films [电影] to help support [养活] their family. Bozla made her first recording [首次录音] when she was just 10 years old.

At the weekend box office [周末票房], the Super Mario Galaxy movie took the top spot [位居第一], with an estimated [预计] $69 million in ticket sales [票房收入]. The Universal and Illumination sequel [续集] has made nearly $630 million globally [全球]. In second place, Amazon MGM Studios' Project Hail Mary, with $24 million in its fourth weekend. In third place, The Drama. In its second weekend, with $8 million, the buzzy [热门的] A24 movie is about an engaged couple [订婚情侣], played by Robert Pattison and Zendaya. And in fourth place, Universal's You, Me, and Tuscany, debuting [首映] with $8 million.
