Gu Yu, Grain Rain is the sixth of the 24 solar terms, and it marks the end of the spring. According to an ancient book, after the Rain Water, the soil becomes rich and ready. Then the rain falls as if to water the grains. That is why it is called "Grain Rain" — rain helps the grains grow.
