Octopuses are very smart.
They can solve puzzles, open jars, and even escape from tanks. In one lab, an octopus learned to turn off a light by shooting water at it. Why? Because the light annoyed it.
Octopuses also have a good memory. They can recognize different people. Some have even squirted water at people they didn't like.
And here's the funny part: they have nine brains. One main brain in their head, and eight smaller brains — one in each arm. That means each arm can think a little bit on its own.
So if you ever see an octopus in an aquarium, be nice. It might be watching you back.
