Mimi Mushroom

I'm personally obsessed with...

Today’s topic is something I’m personally obsessed with… chocolate.

I'm personally obsessed with Korean dramas.

She's personally obsessed with collecting vintage records.

Way back in...

Way back in ancient Mexico, the Aztecs and Mayans valued cacao beans so much...

Way back in the 90s, we didn't have smartphones.

I knew him way back in college.

Can you believe it?

对话里说:they used them to buy stuff. Can you believe it?

She quit her job to become a full-time traveler. Can you believe it?

This house used to be a hospital. Can you believe it?

No way!

No way! What kind of things could you actually buy with cacao beans?

A: "Can I borrow your car?" B: "No way!"

No way! You met him in person?

No way! I can't believe you finished the whole cake.

Not even close.

Not even close. They made a bitter drink from the beans...

A: "Are you almost done?" B: "Not even close."

A: "Is he your boyfriend?" B: "Not even close. We're just friends."

第六个结构:get this

对话里说:...and get this—only rich folks could afford it.

I ran into my ex yesterday, and get this—he's getting married next week.

She got the job, and get this—with a 50% raise!

第七个结构:a far cry from...

对话里说:the chocolate we know and love today is a far cry from its humble (and fancy!) beginnings.

His new apartment is a far cry from his old one.

The movie was a far cry from what I expected.

Mind blown.

Mind blown. Who knew chocolate had such a cool history?

My mind is blown.(完整版)

Blow someone's mind

Mind blown. I had no idea she could sing like that.

That plot twist totally blew my mind.

3. practical

意思是"实用的、实际的",与 theoretical(理论的)相对。
