Hi everyone. It's gossip English time. I'm Wing. This is Yao. Let's learn English through gossip.
Hey, Yao. How's everything going? What's new with you?
Well, as usual, work and work out. But recently, I started to pick up tennis again.
Congrats. Yeah, sounds great.
Yeah, so finally, I realize life have to be balanced with work.
For sure, you need a lot of balance.
Yeah. So how about you?
Well, I just got back from Qinghai-Gansu road trip. Go on a spur of the moment trip.
Nice. And honestly, I think the best place to start is the very first night.
Oh, what happened?
Because the first night really set the tone of the whole trip. We stayed at this guest house right next to Qinghai Lake. And you know, around Qinghai Lake, it is very very remote, in the middle of nowhere. So when I say right next to the Qinghai Lake, literally it was only Qinghai Lake, nothing else.
Oh, you mean you were by the sea?
It was a lake. Qinghai Lake is an inland lake.
Oh, so you stayed by the lake.
Yeah, like 30 meters away from the lake. It was really beautiful.
That sounds cool.
I always like to do some time lapses, and I wanted to have a time lapse of sunrise. Unfortunately, it was cloudy. So I got nothing, but it was still very pretty.
Yeah, so That sounds beautiful, but also slightly creepy.
Yeah, because it was open land. It was beautiful, but yeah, a little bit eerie. It was our first night on the road, so everything already feel very new. And plus, we were at around 3800 meters, pretty high up.
Oh yeah, you're all right. Have you experienced any altitude sickness?
Actually, not really. I don't think I had any. It was not my first time being at that kind of altitude, because I've been to Tibet before. So I wasn't freaking out or anything. I felt quite all right.
OK, that sounds good. So you were not completely new to it.
