Day 50 · 每周一山 | The Mountain Is Always Here
1. I left the Bay Area about half a year ago.
我大概半年前离开了湾区.
2. Now that I'm back, I reached out to my friends right away.

3. We used to have a hiking group. We hiked every week for almost a year.

4. After I left, everyone got busy. The group went quiet.

5. This time I posted in the group chat, and everyone showed up.

6. We hiked Mission Peak, a famous spot in the Bay Area.

7. On the way up, we caught up on everything.

8. One friend, a postdoc, finally published his paper.

Day 51 · 苹果全线涨价 | A Full Three Thousand
1. Lately, I've seen a lot of posts about Apple raising prices.

2. Macs went up across the board.
Mac 全线都涨了.
3. Someone online said they hesitated for a long time about buying one.
有人说自己犹豫了很久要不要买.
4. Before they could decide, the price jumped.
还没下决心, 价格就涨了.
5. So I checked Apple's website. It was up a full three thousand yuan.
于是我查了下苹果官网. 整整涨了三千块.
6. I was surprised. It's not 300. It's 3,000.
我还挺惊讶. 不是三百, 是三千.
7. My first computer in college cost about that much.
我大学买的第一台电脑也就这个价.
8. Out of curiosity, I opened Amazon.

Day 52 · 远程办公的一周 | Working From Home
1. This week, I'm doing remote work.
我这周在远程办公.
2. It just means I don't have to go into the office. I can work from anywhere.
远程办公就是不用去公司, 在哪都能办公.
3. We only get four weeks of it a year.
我们一年总共只有四周可以这样.
4. I was saving it for my Christmas holiday.
我本来留着圣诞假期用.
5. I planned to fly back to China then.
打算那时候飞回中国.
6. But this time, I was in San Francisco. I didn't want to go back to Austin.
但这次我在旧金山, 不太想回奥斯汀了.
7. So I applied for remote work instead.
所以我就申请了远程办公.
8. It feels so free to work from home.
在家办公感觉太自由了.
9. But honestly, I'm less productive.
不过说实话, 效率确实低一些.
10. I don't even eat at regular times anymore.
现在吃饭也不按点了.
11. I was basically lying in bed all day.
我基本就是躺床上一整天.
12. And that's OK. I don't need to be productive all the time.
但没关系, 我不需要时刻都那么高效.
13. People say a little rest helps you go further.

14. And I'm telling myself that, too.

Day 53 · 2026 过半了 | Halfway Through 2026
1. Someone left a comment on my latest podcast episode today.
今天有人在我最新一期播客下留言.
2. She wrote, "Wow, half of 2026 is already gone, just like that."
她说: “哇, 2026 就这么过去一半了。”

10. And honestly, a bunch of other plans never happened either.

11. But there was one surprise win: my TingMate app and podcast.

2. There's an indie developer who shared his story online.
有个独立开发者, 把自己的经历发到了网上.
3. He says a much bigger company grabbed his trademark first.
他说, 一家大得多的公司抢先注册了他的商标.
4. It was a small developer up against a much bigger company.
一个小开发者, 对上一家大得多的公司.
5. That kind of gap really got to me.
这种悬殊真的触动到我了.
6. So I reached out to him to hear what happened.
于是我主动联系了他, 想听听到底怎么回事.
7. He explained everything to me, and reminded me to protect my own work too.
他把来龙去脉跟我讲了, 还提醒我也要保护好自己的作品.
8. I also went through the evidence he shared publicly.
我也看了他公开分享出来的证据.
9. Honestly, I haven't had time to verify every detail.
说实话, 我还没时间逐条去核实.
10. But he's put so much public info out there, and I tend to believe him.
但他公开了那么多资料, 我个人是倾向于相信他的.
11. Still, I don't want to jump to conclusions yet.
不过, 我暂时还不想急着下结论.
12. I just really hope more people pay attention to this.
我只是真心希望更多人能关注这件事.
