There are those who believe that the study of ancient culture has little value in today's education system as it has become irrelevant in contemporary societies, an opinion I disagree with for the following reasons.
One of the principal reasons ancient culture remains relevant is that it helps transmit and preserve the traditions, beliefs, and identities that have shaped modern societies. Through studying ancient civilizations, literature, philosophy, and historical customs, students gain a deeper appreciation of their own cultural heritage while simultaneously developing greater respect for the traditions of other societies, thereby promoting cultural understanding not only of one’s own culture but also that of others. Without such knowledge passed from one generation to the next, many valuable customs, languages, and historical achievements could gradually disappear, resulting in the loss of an important part of a nation’s and humanity's collective identity.
Ancient culture is also valuable because it encourages students to think critically about the present by examining the experiences of the past. The well-known saying that "history always repeats itself" suggests that societies frequently encounter similar political, economic, and social challenges, meaning that by studying previous civilizations, the consequences of poor decision-making and the benefits of wise leadership can be revealed to young minds. Through analysing these historical successes and failures, young people are more likely to develop stronger critical-thinking skills and make better-informed decisions when confronting future issues, rather than repeating mistakes that could otherwise have been avoided.
In conclusion, I disagree that ancient culture is immaterial in modern education because it both safeguards cultural heritage and provides timeless lessons that help students better understand the present while preparing for the future.
一部分人认为，学习古代文化在当下的教育体系中几乎没有价值，因为它与现代社会脱节。我并不认同这一观点，理由如下。
古代文化至今仍具备学习价值的核心原因之一，是它能够传承并塑造现代社会的传统、思想与民族身份。通过学习古文明、古典文学、哲学思想与历史风俗，学生能更深切地理解自身文化遗产，同时学会尊重其他文明的传统，进而促进不同文化之间的相互理解。倘若这类知识无法代代相传，许多珍贵习俗、语言与历史成就将会慢慢消亡，最终致使一个国家乃至全人类的共同身份标识出现缺失。
古代文化同样具备学习价值，因为它能引导学生以史为鉴，辩证看待当下社会。常言道 “历史总是不断重演”，各类社会总会反复遭遇相似的政治、经济与社会难题。研究古文明可以让年轻人看清错误决策带来的恶果，以及明智治理产生的利好。剖析历史上的成败得失，年轻人能锻炼更强的批判性思维，在未来遇到难题时做出更理性的判断，避免重蹈本可以规避的覆辙。
总而言之，我并不认为古代文化在现代教育中毫无意义。它既能守护文化遗产，也能提供永恒的历史经验，帮助学生认清当下、放眼未来。
