I'd like to talk about a little gift I bestowed upon my closest friend just last week.
It's a tiny ocean-blue car model, sleek and detailed, and I picked that specific shade of blue for a really meaningful reason.
I gave this present to my best friend, who has just finished his master's degree and is officially graduating this month. Blue's always been his favorite color, so choosing this colour was a no-brainer when I was shopping for something to celebrate his big milestone.
The main reason I settled on a miniature car stems from all the good times we've had together. He's obsessed with driving. Whenever he travels overseas, he'll always rent a car and head off on week-long road trips to explore new places. Back in the day, he actually owned his own car, but he sold it a few years ago.
Now, whenever he feels like going for a drive, he still rents a car—and when I was in Singapore, he almost always invited me to tag along. We explored some hidden gems of Singapore and those drives were some of my best memories from studying in Singapore.
This is exactly why this little car model struck me as the ideal gift. It wasn't costly, but when I handed it to him, he told me he loved it and that it brought back childhood memories. Hearing that made me genuinely glad, knowing I had picked a present that brought joy to my best friend.
