标题：How the Climate Crisis Is Becoming a Financial Stability Risk

正文：Warnings about ecological collapse once came mainly from environmental groups and independent researchers. Now they are coming from central banks. The European Central Bank (ECB) has warned that the destruction of nature and the escalation of extreme weather pose growing risks to the global financial system. Frank Elderson, a member of the ECB’s executive board, said the ECB is stepping up its monitoring of the financial risks linked to the loss of ecosystem services—natural processes such as clean water, stable rainfall, and functioning river systems that underpin economic activity. “These services are not stable, but they are in rapid decline,” he said. “That is why we talk about the climate and nature crises.”
