Bai Lu, White Dew is the 15th solar term, and the third one of autumn. In ancient Chinese philosophy, each season was linked to one of the five elements. Autumn belongs to metal, and the color of metal is white. So the morning dew that forms in autumn came to be called "White Dew" — a name that carries its own quiet elegance.
