The value of friendship that won’t last forever
Today, I want to talk about something very personal: friendship, saying goodbye, and the question of whether it is still worth making new friends when we know that, one day, people may leave our lives.
When I learned that my friend would be leaving, I felt genuinely sad. I cried, and I started thinking about something that I had probably felt before but had never fully expressed:
If people eventually move away, relationships change, and friends become less involved in our daily lives, what is the point of making new friends in the first place?
Should we avoid new friendships simply because they might not last forever?
Today, I want to explore this question through my own experience and, especially, through something my friend said to me that helped me see the situation differently.
